BackpackEMR Wins Founders Live Minneapolis Pitch Competition

BackpackEMR Wins Founders Live Minneapolis Pitch Competition

BackpackEMR pitched with 4 other incredible companies in Minneapolis during the first virtual Founders Live Minneapolis pitch competition.

We had live music by Immortal Girlfriend to kick off our live stream. Then each founder had 90 seconds to pitch our companies. Afterwards, the attendees were given a chance to vote for the winner, and it was neck and neck between BackpackEMR and Bus Stop Mamas! With 1 extra minute … we were up by 2! Whew!

Our winners package includes $5,000 in AWS Cloud Credits and a podcast interview with the founder of Founders Live – Nice Hughes. Follow us on Facebook and stay tuned!

BackpackEMR Wins the People’s Choice Award at #CloudInnovateHer Pitch Competition

BackpackEMR Wins the People’s Choice Award at #CloudInnovateHer Pitch Competition

We were excited to be selected as one of 12 finalists for the Microsoft-sponsored Women In Cloud #CloudInnovateHer Pitch Competition. Qualifications for the competition included heavy usage of cloud technologies, which is something BackpackEMR certainly uses!

On May 1st, we were given 2 minutes to pitch BackpackEMR as a solid solution to a real problem. Due to COVID-19, we were, of course, all virtual. B’zt, an incredible company that creates clothing that includes tracking capabilities for at risk children and adults, was selected by the judges and won the grand prize. Congratulations to B’zt!

Afterwards, the audience was able to vote for their favorite, and we were honored to win the People’s Choice Award!  Thank you to our supporters who voted for us! Part of our prize package includes $1000 in cloud credits and a ticket to attend a UN Delegation. We can definitely use both of these as we move forward.

THANK YOU to Women in Cloud for the amazing experience and your dedication to support women founders!

Venn Foundation Opens its PRI to Binary Bridge for Covid-19 Response

Venn Foundation Opens its PRI to Binary Bridge for Covid-19 Response

We want to thank our current Venn Foundation donors who supported us during our initial Program-Related Investment (PRI) round back in 2018. In the Covid-19 crisis, we have observed an increased interest in using BackpackEMR to support the medical response around the world. For example, Kenya’s Ministry of Health is considering using BackpackEMR to track COVID-19 cases in its health facilities authorized to test the virus. In the United States, BackpackEMR will join a collaboration of disaster response organizations in a FEMA proposal to provide temporary testing clinics. To help us adapt our system for COVID-19 response, Venn has reopened the PRI opportunities to the public.

With Venn’s PRI, the Bush Foundation has agreed to match every donation 2:1 up to $20,000. Additionally, with our Launch MN Innovation Grant, the State of MN will match up to $31,000 on a 2:1 basis, as well. That means a $10,000 donation would equal $22,500 in PRI and grant capital to Binary Bridge.

Thank you, Venn Foundation, for helping us support the global medical community during the Covid-19 crisis!
